Air Fryer Breadsticks are soft and fluffy on the inside with a golden, slightly crisp exterior. Brushed with garlic butter and finished with Parmesan cheese, these quick breadsticks make a perfect side dish, appetizer, or snack—ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
Topping
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Serving
- Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes to ensure even cooking and a crispy exterior on your breadsticks.
- Prepare Dough Strips. Roll the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangular shape. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into 10 to 12 even strips for consistent cooking.
- Arrange in Air Fryer. Place the dough strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If your basket is small, cook the breadsticks in batches to avoid overcrowding and ensure they cook evenly.
- Air Fry Breadsticks. Cook the breadsticks for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. They should turn golden brown and be cooked through with a soft center.
- Make Garlic Butter. While breadsticks cook, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl to create a flavorful garlic butter mixture.
- Brush and Finish. Once breadsticks are cooked and still warm, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Then, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top for a savory finish.
- Serve. Serve the breadsticks immediately with marinara sauce on the side for dipping to enjoy them at their best.
Notes
- Air fryer cooking times may vary depending on model; check at the 6-minute mark to prevent overcooking.
- For cheesy breadsticks, add shredded mozzarella before the last minute of air frying after brushing with garlic butter.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for an extra layer of flavor and color.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer to regain crispiness.
