Description

This Amazing Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole is a comforting one-pan meal made with egg noodles, canned tuna, creamy soup, and gooey cheese. It’s the ultimate nostalgic dish that’s quick to prepare, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights or family dinners.

Ingredients

8 ounces egg noodles

2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained

1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery soup

1/2 cup milk

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1/2 cup crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs (for topping, optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente, then drain them well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles, drained tuna, cream of mushroom (or celery) soup, milk, and frozen peas (if using). Stir until well mixed.
  4. Stir in 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Add crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs for a crispy topping if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and heated through. If using a topping, bake until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it stand for a few minutes before serving.
