1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter

3 eggs

1 cup oil

½ cup milk

1 cup sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking soda

2 cups flour

1 small box vanilla instant pudding

1 cup nuts (chopped, optional)

1 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Amish Friendship Bread starter, eggs, oil, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and vanilla instant pudding until fully incorporated. Add in any optional ingredients like nuts or raisins, if desired.
  4. Grease two large loaf pans and dust them with a mixture of ½ cup sugar and 1½ teaspoons cinnamon.

  9. Enjoy your delicious homemade Amish Friendship Bread!

Notes

  • Feel free to toss in your favorite dried fruits, nuts, or baking chips. Popular choices include walnuts, pecans, cranberries, or chocolate chips.
  • For a healthier version, swap out half the oil with applesauce or mashed bananas, and reduce the sugar to ⅔ cup or use honey instead.
  • Try different flavored puddings, such as chocolate or butterscotch, for a fun twist.
  • Store Amish Friendship Bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze the bread tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
