Description

Apple Fritter Bread is a cozy, cinnamon-spiced loaf layered with juicy apples and sweet glaze. It’s like enjoying your favorite apple fritter in a soft, sliceable bread—perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a comforting snack.

Ingredients

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup milk

Glaze:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Toss a portion with diced apples to coat.
  3. In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar and softened butter until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour with baking powder. Add to the wet ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until combined.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with half the apple mixture and half the cinnamon-sugar. Repeat with remaining batter and apple layers. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled loaf before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • Swap milk for maple syrup in the glaze for fall flavor.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to deepen the spice profile.
  • Use mini loaf pans for smaller portions—adjust bake time accordingly.
  • Toss apples in caramel sauce before layering for extra richness.
