Ingredients
12 fresh oysters in the shell
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
¼ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Lemon wedges for serving
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Shuck the oysters carefully, keeping them in their shells. Place the oysters on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, breadcrumbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Spoon the garlic cheese mixture over each oyster, covering each oyster generously.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10–12 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the oysters.

- For a spicy version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
- For a citrusy twist, sprinkle lemon zest over the oysters before serving.
- Other herbs like basil, thyme, or chives can be used instead of parsley for a different flavor profile.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day, though the texture may change slightly.
