Description

Rich, fudgy, and moist — this Brownie Bread tastes like a brownie and bakes like a loaf. Perfect for chocolate lovers, brunch, or dessert!

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional

  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan to ensure the bread doesn’t stick during baking.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Whisk wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownie bread tender.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips: If using, fold in the chocolate chips evenly through the batter to add extra chocolaty pockets.
  6. Pour batter into pan: Transfer the batter to the greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula for even baking.
  7. Bake the bread: Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out fudgy with moist crumbs but not wet batter.
  8. Cool and serve: Allow the brownie bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature for a delicious treat.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to maintain a gooey, fudgy texture inside.
  • Add walnuts to the batter for a crunchy, brownie-style texture.
