Description
Cheeseburger Biscuit Cups are a fun, kid-approved dinner combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with the convenience of biscuit dough. Filled with a savory cheeseburger mixture and melted Velveeta cheese, they make for a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for busy nights or casual family gatherings.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
½ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tubes (6 oz each) refrigerated biscuits
4 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed small
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a 12-cup muffin pan by spraying 10 of the muffin cups with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain any excess fat. Add ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet with the beef, stir well, and let simmer while you prepare the biscuit cups.
- Flatten each biscuit into a large circle, pressing each one into a muffin cup. Repeat with the remaining biscuits.
- Place 2 small cubes of Velveeta cheese into each biscuit cup, followed by a generous scoop of the cheeseburger mixture, filling each cup to the top. Top with 2 more cubes of Velveeta cheese on each cup.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown on top and fully cooked through. Allow the cups to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- If you prefer a different cheese, you can swap Velveeta with cheddar, mozzarella, or any other melting cheese of your choice.
- For a spicy version, add jalapeños to the cheeseburger mixture or sprinkle chili flakes on top before baking.
- If you don’t have Velveeta, use another melty cheese like Monterey Jack or provolone.
- Vegetarian option: Replace the ground beef with a plant-based meat substitute or lentils.
