Description

This Cheesy Potato and Ground Beef Bake is a comforting casserole layered with tender potatoes, seasoned beef, and melty cheese—perfect for hearty family dinners.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup milk

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

2 Tbsp butter

Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13″ baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened and bubbly.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in cheddar cheese until smooth, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Layer half the sliced potatoes in the prepared dish, followed by half the beef and half the cheese sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
