Ingredients
For the Fried Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts, cut in half)

Instructions
- Fried Chicken: In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken, cover, and marinate at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results). In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove chicken from marinade, dredge in flour mixture, and shake off excess. Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Drain on paper towels.
- Waffles: Preheat waffle iron. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Cook batter in waffle iron until golden and crisp.
- Assemble: Place a waffle on a plate, top with a piece of fried chicken. Add butter and drizzle generously with maple syrup. Garnish with herbs if desired and serve warm.

- For extra crispy chicken, double-dredge: dip in flour, then buttermilk, then flour again.
- To save time, use frozen waffles or an air fryer for the chicken.
