Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add the warm milk and oil, then knead the mixture into a soft dough. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  2. Make the Filling: In another bowl, mix together the shredded cooked chicken, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, finely chopped onion, black pepper, garlic powder, and mixed vegetables if using. Stir until well combined.
  3. Shape the Bread: On a floured surface, roll the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread the chicken filling evenly along the center of the dough.
  4. Braid the Dough: Cut slits on both sides of the dough, then fold these strips over the filling in a braided pattern, ensuring the filling is securely enclosed.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the braided bread onto a baking tray. Brush the entire surface with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the top.
