Description

Cream Cheese Rangoon Rolls are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, offering the perfect bite of deliciousness. Filled with a flavorful cream cheese mixture and wrapped in egg rolls, they make for the perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

15 egg roll wraps

8 oz softened cream cheese

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1/2 tsp garlic salt

2 tbsp finely chopped green onions

For the dip:

3 tbsp sweet and sour sauce

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, garlic salt, and finely chopped green onions. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Lay out an egg roll wrap on a clean surface. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese filling onto the center of the wrap, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
  3. Continue assembling the rolls until all the cream cheese filling has been used, placing each roll seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Lightly brush each roll with vegetable oil to promote crispiness during baking.
  6. Place the rolls in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a seafood twist, add some cooked crab or shrimp to the cream cheese filling.
  • For added spice, mix in Sriracha or crushed red pepper flakes to the cream cheese filling.
  • For an air fryer method, cook the rolls at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For a keto version, substitute the egg roll wraps with thinly sliced zucchini or cabbage leaves and use a keto-friendly sweetener for the sweet and sour sauce.
  • These rolls can be stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days or frozen after assembly for up to 1 month.
  • Experiment with different herbs and spices in the cream cheese filling, such as cilantro, minced garlic, or ginger.
