Ingredients
Orzo Pasta
- 1 cup orzo pasta
Sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ cup milk or cream
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sauté Garlic: Melt butter in a pan over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Toast Orzo: Add the orzo pasta to the pan and toast for about 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning and to enhance flavor.
- Simmer Orzo: Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook the orzo for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the pasta is tender.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Stir in the milk or cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the sauce is creamy and coats the orzo evenly.
- Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as desired. Serve warm as a delicious side dish.
Notes
- Add fresh spinach or peas to the dish for a pop of color and extra nutrition.
