Description

Silky and rich orzo pasta coated in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce, perfect as a comforting and elegant side dish.

Ingredients

Orzo Pasta

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup milk or cream
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté Garlic: Melt butter in a pan over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Toast Orzo: Add the orzo pasta to the pan and toast for about 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning and to enhance flavor.
  3. Simmer Orzo: Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook the orzo for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the pasta is tender.
  4. Add Cream and Cheese: Stir in the milk or cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the sauce is creamy and coats the orzo evenly.
  5. Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as desired. Serve warm as a delicious side dish.

Notes

  • Add fresh spinach or peas to the dish for a pop of color and extra nutrition.
  • This orzo pairs beautifully as a side to chicken or seafood dishes.
