Description
Crepes are thin, delicate pancakes that can be filled with sweet or savory ingredients. Easy to make, these soft, golden crepes are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert and can be customized with your favorite fillings.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
½ cup milk
½ cup water
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, water, and salt until smooth.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
- Pour about ¼ cup of the batter into the skillet and swirl to spread it into a thin layer.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges lift and the bottom is lightly golden.
- Flip and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute on the other side.
- Remove from the pan and place on a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve immediately with your favorite fillings or toppings.
Notes
For sweet crepes, add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or vanilla extract to the batter.
For savory crepes, omit the sugar and add fresh herbs or seasonings like garlic powder, thyme, or parsley.
To make gluten-free crepes, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
Fill with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or sautéed apples for a sweet treat, or use savory fillings like cheese, spinach, and ham.
