Description
Crispy Red Potato Wedges are a savory side dish featuring crispy, golden exteriors and soft, fluffy interiors. With a blend of simple spices and fresh parsley, these wedges are a perfect complement to any meal, easy to make, and full of flavor.
Ingredients
2 pounds red potatoes
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and scrub the red potatoes thoroughly. Cut each potato into wedges, aiming for about eight wedges per potato.
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Add the potato wedges to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Spread the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add fresh rosemary or thyme to the seasoning mix.
- For a spicier version, swap the cayenne pepper with a bit of chili powder or Cajun seasoning.
- To make these wedges cheesy, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over them during the last few minutes of baking.
- For a healthier alternative, try swapping regular potatoes with sweet potatoes.
