Description
This easy blueberry cobbler is a no-fuss, comforting dessert that combines fresh blueberries with a simple batter for a warm, delicious treat. Topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s perfect for any time of the year, especially during the summer.
Ingredients
½ cup butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup milk
4 cups fresh blueberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Melt the butter in the preheating oven, which should take about 5 minutes. Once melted, remove the dish from the oven.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the self-rising flour, sugar, and milk until combined.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Scatter the fresh blueberries over the batter.
- Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
- If fresh blueberries aren’t available, substitute frozen blueberries directly into the batter without thawing.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for extra flavor.
- A little lemon zest can brighten up the flavor of the blueberries.
- Try mixing other fruits like raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries in place of some or all of the blueberries.
