½ cup unsalted butter
4 oz dark chocolate bar, chopped and divided
½ cup packed light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons whole milk

- Add half the chopped chocolate and whisk until melted and smooth.
- Whisk in brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift in cocoa powder, salt, and heat-treated flour. Stir until a thick batter forms.
- Add milk gradually, stirring until the batter reaches desired consistency.

- Swap in semi-sweet chips for convenience.
- For extra fudgy batter, skip melted chocolate and add more cocoa.
