Description
Tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich, creamy garlic parmesan sauce, delivering a comforting restaurant-style dish that’s simple to make at home.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts or thighs
- Salt & pepper to taste
Cooking
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Garnish
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper to enhance flavor before cooking.
- Sear the chicken: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Make the sauce: Stir in the heavy cream, grated parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
- Simmer the chicken: Return the seared chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the chicken and sauce before serving. This dish pairs beautifully with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- Serve the chicken over cooked pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- For extra flavor and texture, add sliced mushrooms or fresh spinach to the sauce during simmering.
