Description

Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup pure maple syrup
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Add-ins
- ¾ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, pure maple syrup, granulated sugar, vegetable oil or melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift or stir together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon ensuring the leavening agents and spices are evenly distributed.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir gently and mix just until all the dry ingredients are incorporated to avoid overmixing, which could toughen the bread.
- Fold in Walnuts: Carefully fold the chopped walnuts into the batter, distributing them evenly without overworking the mixture.
- Fill Loaf Pan and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top lightly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the Bread: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes to set. Then, transfer it onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing to preserve texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use pure maple syrup rather than pancake syrup to ensure authentic maple flavor.
- For a richer, nuttier flavor, consider toasting the walnuts lightly before folding them into the batter.
- Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing, as it slices much more cleanly and holds its shape better.
- Store the bread wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the loaf for up to 2 months.
