Description

These Muffins That Taste Like Doughnuts are light, fluffy treats rolled in cinnamon sugar for that classic doughnut flavor—no frying required. Simple, nostalgic, and delicious any time of day.


Ingredients

Muffin Batter:

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1½ cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

½ cup milk

¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

¼ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Coating:

¼ cup melted butter

½ cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tsp ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat together sugar, egg, milk, and oil or melted butter until smooth.
  4. Stir wet ingredients into dry until just combined—do not overmix.
  5. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling about ⅔ full.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let muffins cool slightly. Brush tops with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.

  • Freeze uncoated muffins for up to 1 month. Thaw and coat before serving.
