Description

Praline Crunch is a sweet and crunchy treat that combines Crispix cereal, pecans, and a buttery caramel sauce for a delightful snack. Perfect for any occasion, it’s easy to make and completely irresistible.

Ingredients

8 cups Crispix cereal

2 cups pecan halves

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and corn syrup until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for about 5–6 minutes.
  4. Once boiling, let the caramel boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Be careful as the mixture will foam up.
  5. Immediately pour the caramel over the cereal and pecans, stirring gently to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
  7. Allow the praline crunch to cool completely before breaking it into clusters and storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • If you don’t have pecans, you can use almonds, walnuts, or cashews as a substitute.
  • For added indulgence, drizzle some melted chocolate over the cooled praline crunch.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the caramel for extra flavor.
  • This treat can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
