Description
Praline Crunch is a sweet and crunchy treat that combines Crispix cereal, pecans, and a buttery caramel sauce for a delightful snack. Perfect for any occasion, it’s easy to make and completely irresistible.
Ingredients
8 cups Crispix cereal
2 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and corn syrup until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for about 5–6 minutes.
- Once boiling, let the caramel boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Be careful as the mixture will foam up.
- Immediately pour the caramel over the cereal and pecans, stirring gently to coat evenly.
- Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
- Allow the praline crunch to cool completely before breaking it into clusters and storing in an airtight container.
Notes
- If you don’t have pecans, you can use almonds, walnuts, or cashews as a substitute.
- For added indulgence, drizzle some melted chocolate over the cooled praline crunch.
- Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the caramel for extra flavor.
- This treat can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
