Description
Quick and Easy Honey Garlic Chicken Breast is a flavorful and simple dish featuring juicy chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
3 chicken breasts
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup flour
3 tbsp unsalted butter (or margarine)
6 cloves garlic, minced
4 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, ensuring an even coating.
- Heat butter (or margarine) in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side, until golden brown and fully cooked.
- In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and ground black pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour the honey sauce mixture into the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the pan. Let the sauce simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the chicken with the sauce poured over the top.
Notes
- Add vegetables such as broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for a one-pan meal.
- For a spicy version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts if preferred.
- Use gluten-free flour to make the recipe gluten-free.
