Description

Quick and Easy Honey Garlic Chicken Breast is a flavorful and simple dish featuring juicy chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

3 chicken breasts

Salt and pepper

1/2 cup flour

3 tbsp unsalted butter (or margarine)

6 cloves garlic, minced

4 tbsp honey

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp vinegar

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, ensuring an even coating.
  2. Heat butter (or margarine) in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side, until golden brown and fully cooked.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and ground black pepper.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour the honey sauce mixture into the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the pan. Let the sauce simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve the chicken with the sauce poured over the top.

Notes

  • Add vegetables such as broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for a one-pan meal.
  • For a spicy version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts if preferred.
  • Use gluten-free flour to make the recipe gluten-free.
