Description
This Salted Caramel Banana Bread combines soft, moist banana bread with rich salted caramel sauce. It’s topped with a warm drizzle of homemade salted caramel sauce, creating a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors in every bite.
Ingredients
1/4 cup (57g) salted butter
1 cup (220g) brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup (114g) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup (245g) mashed bananas
1/2 cup (120ml) salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, stir together the butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and transfer to a heatproof jar. Let cool.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Stir in the flour, baking powder, and baking soda until almost combined.
- Fold in the mashed bananas and 1/2 cup of salted caramel sauce until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool, then drizzle with additional salted caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
- The banana bread is best served warm with an extra drizzle of salted caramel sauce.
- If you prefer a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the batter.
- For a vegan version, swap the butter with a vegan butter substitute and use flax eggs.
- Store the banana bread in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
