Description

This Salted Caramel Banana Bread combines soft, moist banana bread with rich salted caramel sauce. It’s topped with a warm drizzle of homemade salted caramel sauce, creating a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

1/4 cup (57g) salted butter

1 cup (220g) brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup (114g) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/4 cup (60ml) milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 cup (245g) mashed bananas

1/2 cup (120ml) salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, stir together the butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and transfer to a heatproof jar. Let cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and baking soda until almost combined.
  5. Fold in the mashed bananas and 1/2 cup of salted caramel sauce until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the banana bread cool, then drizzle with additional salted caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

  • The banana bread is best served warm with an extra drizzle of salted caramel sauce.
  • If you prefer a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • For a vegan version, swap the butter with a vegan butter substitute and use flax eggs.
  • Store the banana bread in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
