Description

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms are an elegant and easy-to-prepare appetizer featuring crab meat, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

12 large white mushrooms

8 ounces of lump crab meat

1/4 cup of breadcrumbs

1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt. Remove the stems and set them aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Take each mushroom cap and fill it generously with the crab mixture. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake the mushrooms for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is golden brown and the mushrooms are tender.
  6. Allow the mushrooms to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, drizzle melted butter or olive oil over the stuffed mushrooms before baking.
  • You can substitute the lump crab meat with imitation crab or cooked shrimp for variation.
  • If you prefer a spicy kick, add jalapenos, red pepper flakes, or hot sauce to the crab mixture.
  • If you don’t have breadcrumbs, use crushed crackers or panko breadcrumbs.
  • For a dairy-free version, swap Parmesan cheese and mayonnaise for vegan alternatives.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
