Description
Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms are an elegant and easy-to-prepare appetizer featuring crab meat, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley, baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
12 large white mushrooms
8 ounces of lump crab meat
1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt. Remove the stems and set them aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Take each mushroom cap and fill it generously with the crab mixture. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet.
- Bake the mushrooms for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is golden brown and the mushrooms are tender.
- Allow the mushrooms to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, drizzle melted butter or olive oil over the stuffed mushrooms before baking.
- You can substitute the lump crab meat with imitation crab or cooked shrimp for variation.
- If you prefer a spicy kick, add jalapenos, red pepper flakes, or hot sauce to the crab mixture.
- If you don’t have breadcrumbs, use crushed crackers or panko breadcrumbs.
- For a dairy-free version, swap Parmesan cheese and mayonnaise for vegan alternatives.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
