Description

Simple Cinnamon Baked Pears are a warm and naturally sweet dessert where tender pears are baked with butter, cinnamon, and sugar, creating a fragrant syrup that makes every bite irresistible.

Ingredients

4 Pears (Bosc, Bartlett, D’Anjou)

2 Tablespoons Sugar

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

2 Tablespoons Butter

1 Cup Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash the pears, then cut them into halves. Use a spoon to scoop out the core from each pear half.
  3. Place the pear halves in a baking dish, skin side down.
  4. Divide the butter into equal portions and place a portion on top of each pear half.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the pears.
  6. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the pears to brown and caramelize slightly.

Notes

  • Add Nuts: Sprinkle some chopped walnuts or pecans on top for crunch.
  • Sweeten with Honey: Replace the sugar with honey for a natural sweetness.
  • Spices: Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for more complexity.
  • Topping Ideas: Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for indulgence.
