Ingredients
Beef Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Tortillas & Cheese
- 8 small flour or low-carb tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
Toppings
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced pickles
- Diced onions
- Burger sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the Pan: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot and ready for cooking.
- Form Beef Balls: Roll the ground beef into small balls, approximately 2 tablespoons each, to ensure even, thin patties.
- Prepare Tortillas and Beef: Place one tortilla in the hot pan, then place a beef ball on top of the tortilla.
- Smash the Beef: Using a spatula, firmly press down on the beef ball to spread it thinly and evenly over the tortilla surface.
- Season the Patty: Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly over the smashed beef to infuse flavor.
- Cook the Patties: Allow the beef to cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
- Add Cheese and Toppings: Once cooked, top the beef with shredded cheese and your choice of toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced pickles, diced onions, and burger sauce.
- Serve: Fold the tortilla over the filling and serve immediately while hot and flavorful.
Notes
- Using a burger press can yield an ultra-crispy texture on the beef patties.
- Low-carb tortillas make this recipe keto-friendly without sacrificing taste.
- For added spice, incorporate sliced jalapeños into the toppings.
