Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- Cook noodles: Boil the egg noodles according to the package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Prepare beef sauce: Stir the tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the browned ground beef, mixing well to combine the flavors.
- Mix creamy layer: In a bowl, combine the sour cream and cottage cheese, mixing until smooth and evenly blended.
- Layer the casserole: In a baking dish, start with a layer of noodles, then spread a layer of the sour cream and cottage cheese mixture, followed by a layer of the beef tomato sauce, and then sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Repeat layers: Repeat the layering process with noodles, sour cream mixture, beef sauce, and cheese, finishing with a top layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
