Beef and Sauce Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For Serving

Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Place the 2 lbs beef chuck roast into the slow cooker, ensuring it fits comfortably for even cooking.
- Mix the Sauce: In a bowl, combine 1 cup BBQ sauce, ½ cup beef broth, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well until all ingredients are uniformly mixed.
- Cook the Beef: Pour the prepared BBQ sauce mixture over the beef in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours, or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef is tender and easy to shred.
- Shred the Beef: Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef back into the slow cooker, mixing it thoroughly with the cooking sauce to absorb all the flavors.
- Serve: Spoon the tangy shredded beef onto buns and serve immediately. Optionally, add coleslaw for extra crunch and a classic Southern touch.
