Description

Tri-flavoured Pound Cake combines three delightful flavors—matcha, black sesame, and white chocolate—into one decadent treat. This cake features a beautiful marbled design and a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, making it a unique and irresistible dessert.


Ingredients

1 egg

60g flour

40g white chocolate

40g butter

15g sugar

Pinch salt

1/3 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp matcha powder

2 tsp black sesame paste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter and white chocolate together, either over the stovetop or in the microwave. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the egg and sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until the mixture thickens and becomes white in color.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder into the egg mixture. Fold in the flour mixture until well combined.
  4. Add the cooled butter and white chocolate mixture to the egg-flour mixture and mix until smooth.
  5. Divide the batter into three equal portions.
  6. Mix matcha powder into one portion, and black sesame paste into another. Leave the third portion plain.
  7. Marble the three different batters by spooning them into your prepared loaf tin, then gently swirl with a knife or spatula to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
