Description
Crispy, cheesy jalapeno poppers made easily in the air fryer. A perfect spicy appetizer with a creamy filling and crunchy exterior, perfect for game days or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
Jalapeno Poppers
- 10 fresh jalapenos, halved and seeded
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer. Set your air fryer to 190°C (375°F) and allow it to heat up while you prepare the jalapenos.
- Prepare the cheese filling. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined to create a creamy, flavorful filling.
- Fill the jalapenos. Carefully spoon the cheese mixture into each halved and seeded jalapeno, filling them generously but not overflowing.
- Add the breadcrumb topping. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the filled jalapeno halves to give a crunchy crust once cooked.
- Arrange in air fryer. Place the stuffed jalapeno halves in a single layer inside the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crisping of each piece.
- Cook until golden and crispy. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the cheese filling is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm. Remove from the air fryer carefully and serve immediately while hot and crispy for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Wear gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid skin irritation from the spicy oils.
- Add cooked bacon bits to the cheese mixture for an extra layer of smoky flavor.
- Adjust cooking time slightly depending on your air fryer model and size of jalapenos.
