Description

Balsamic Air Fry Bone-In Chicken Breast is a juicy and flavorful chicken dish featuring crispy skin and a tangy balsamic herb glaze. The air fryer cooks the chicken quickly and evenly, resulting in beautifully browned edges and tender, succulent meat perfect for a delicious dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts

Marinade

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure the skin crisps well during cooking.
  2. Make the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  3. Marinate the chicken: Rub the marinade generously all over the chicken breasts, including underneath the skin where possible for maximum flavor. Let the chicken marinate for 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat fully before cooking.
  5. Start cooking: Place the chicken breasts skin-side down in the air fryer basket to cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Flip the chicken: After 15 minutes, flip the chicken breasts skin-side up and continue cooking for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the thickest part reaches 165°F (74°C) internal temperature.
  7. Rest before serving: Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes. This helps retain juices for a moist, tender bite.

Notes

  • Patting the chicken dry before marinating ensures crispier skin.
  • Adjust cooking time depending on the size of your chicken breasts for the best results.
  • Brush additional balsamic glaze onto the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking for extra flavor.
  • Resting the chicken after cooking improves juiciness and tenderness.
