Ingredients
Pasta and Bacon
- 2 cups cooked pasta
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) to prepare for baking the pasta.
- Make Roux: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the flour to create a roux. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Add Milk: Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir constantly until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season Sauce: Add the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste, and stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Add Cheese to Sauce: Stir in half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese into the sauce until fully melted and smooth.
- Combine Pasta and Bacon: Mix the cooked pasta and crumbled bacon into the cheese sauce, ensuring everything is evenly coated.
- Prepare for Baking: Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm for a delicious, hearty meal.
