Description
A moist and classic banana bread filled with rich chocolate chips—perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan thoroughly to ensure the banana bread doesn’t stick.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, then whisk in the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is homogenous.
- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently just until everything is incorporated. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the chocolate chips into the batter ensuring even distribution without stirring too much.
- Pour and Bake: Transfer the batter into the greased loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and natural sweetness.
- Add chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans for extra texture and flavor.
- Check doneness with a toothpick to avoid undercooking or overbaking.
- You can substitute butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free variation.
- Store leftover bread wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
