Description

Crockpot Shredded Beef is a tender and flavorful slow-cooked dish made with beef chuck roast simmered in savory seasonings until it easily shreds. Perfect for sandwiches, tacos, rice bowls, or meal prep, this easy recipe lets the beef soak up rich flavors while cooking low and slow in a crockpot for juicy, melt-in-your-mouth results.

Ingredients

Beef and Seasonings

  • 23 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Liquids and Oils

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Sear the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the beef chuck roast on all sides until nicely browned to enhance the flavor and lock in juices.
  2. Prepare crockpot base: Place sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot to infuse flavor while cooking.
  3. Add beef to crockpot: Place the seared beef roast on top of the onions and garlic in the crockpot.
  4. Add liquids and seasonings: Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the beef. Sprinkle paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper evenly on top.
  5. Slow cook the beef: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4–5 hours until the beef is very tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  6. Shred the beef: Remove the beef from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Mix the shredded meat back into the cooking juices for maximum flavor.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Use the shredded beef in tacos, sandwiches, wraps, or over mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.
