Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 pound (450 g) lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Bowls
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup cucumber, julienned
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 4 eggs
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Sliced green onions
Gochujang Sauce
- 2 tablespoons gochujang
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon water
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat to prevent greasiness.
- Season the Beef: Add minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and black pepper to the beef. Stir and cook for 2 to 3 minutes to blend the flavors.
- Prepare Vegetables: Blanch the spinach and bean sprouts in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain and set aside.
- Fry the Eggs: In a separate pan, fry the eggs until the whites are fully set but the yolks remain runny for added richness.
- Make the Gochujang Sauce: Combine gochujang, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and water in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
- Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice evenly among four bowls. Neatly arrange the seasoned ground beef and prepared vegetables (spinach, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts) on top of the rice.
- Top with Egg and Sauce: Place a fried egg on each bowl. Drizzle with the prepared gochujang sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for texture and flavor.
