Ingredients
Pizza Dough
- 1 lb pizza dough, homemade or store-bought
Chicken Topping
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheese and Sauce
- 3/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Garnishes
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- Red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up while preparing the pizza.
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add thinly sliced chicken breast, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, heavy cream, grated Parmesan, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and creamy to form the base sauce for the pizza.
- Shape Dough: On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out your pizza dough into a 12-inch round shape, making sure to leave a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Assemble Pizza: Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough, leaving the border free. Top with the cooked garlic chicken slices, then sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake Pizza: Carefully transfer the assembled pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes until the crust turns golden and the cheese bubbles and melts nicely.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley, fresh basil, and optional red pepper flakes on top. Slice and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken can be swapped in to save time instead of cooking chicken from scratch.
- For added depth of flavor, consider adding sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or roasted garlic to the toppings.
- Allow pizza dough to rest at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes prior to shaping for easier handling and better texture.
- Using a preheated pizza stone enhances the crust’s crispiness and bake quality.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispness.
