Ingredients
Meat and Vegetables
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasonings and Liquids
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ cup beef broth
Instructions
- Heat oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for sautéing.
- Cook onion: Add diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid browning too much.
- Brown beef: Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks to ensure even cooking and no large clumps remain.
- Add seasonings: Stir in minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to evenly distribute the flavors throughout the beef.
- Add cabbage and broth: Mix in the chopped cabbage and pour in the beef broth to provide moisture for cooking the cabbage.
- Simmer: Cover the skillet and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but not mushy.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot as a comforting and wholesome one-pan meal.
Notes
