Description
Juicy homemade turkey patties seasoned with herbs and spices, then pan-seared or grilled to perfection. A lean, protein-rich recipe that’s ideal for dinner or meal prep.
Ingredients
Turkey Patties
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, whole wheat breadcrumbs, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round, flat patty approximately ¾ inch thick, ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
- Heat the Cooking Surface: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat the grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the patties.
- Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the skillet or grill. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, flipping carefully, until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), indicating they are fully cooked and safe to eat.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. This helps the juices redistribute, making the patties juicy and tender. Serve warm with your choice of sides.
Notes
- Serve with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
- Uncooked patties can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw before cooking.
