Description

This Lemon Vanilla Black Tea Iced Tea is a refreshing homemade beverage combining bold black tea, bright lemon juice, and a smooth hint of vanilla. Lightly sweetened with honey or sugar, it delivers a perfect balance of flavors ideal for hot summer days or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups cold water

Sweetener & Flavorings

  • ¼ cup honey or granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water: Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil on the stove.
  2. Steep tea: Remove from heat and immerse the black tea bags into the hot water. Allow to steep for 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
  3. Dissolve sweetener: Remove the tea bags carefully and stir in the honey or granulated sugar until fully dissolved, adjusting sweetness as desired.
  4. Add lemon and vanilla: Mix in the fresh lemon juice and vanilla extract to the sweetened tea, enhancing the citrus and vanilla notes.
  5. Cool the tea: Stir in 2 cups of cold water to bring down the temperature and let the tea cool completely.
  6. Chill: Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, allowing flavors to meld and the beverage to become refreshingly cool.
  7. Serve: Serve the iced tea over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired for an extra aromatic touch.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less honey or sugar.
  • Use pure vanilla extract for the best and most natural vanilla flavor.
  • Store leftover iced tea refrigerated for up to 4 days to maintain freshness.
