Ingredients
Tea Base
- 4 black tea bags
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups cold water
Sweetener & Flavorings
- ¼ cup honey or granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
To Serve
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices, for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Boil water: Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil on the stove.
- Steep tea: Remove from heat and immerse the black tea bags into the hot water. Allow to steep for 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
- Dissolve sweetener: Remove the tea bags carefully and stir in the honey or granulated sugar until fully dissolved, adjusting sweetness as desired.
- Add lemon and vanilla: Mix in the fresh lemon juice and vanilla extract to the sweetened tea, enhancing the citrus and vanilla notes.
- Cool the tea: Stir in 2 cups of cold water to bring down the temperature and let the tea cool completely.
- Chill: Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, allowing flavors to meld and the beverage to become refreshingly cool.
- Serve: Serve the iced tea over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired for an extra aromatic touch.
