Description

Low Sugar Iced Tea Lemonade is a refreshing and thirst-quenching summer beverage that combines freshly brewed black tea with fresh lemon juice and a mild sweetness from sugar-free sweeteners. Perfectly balanced to delight your taste buds without excess sugar, it’s ideal for hot days and healthy hydration.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags

Lemonade Mixture

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons allulose or your preferred sugar-free sweetener
  • 1 cup cold water

For Serving

  • Ice, for serving
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint, optional

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Brew Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil on the stovetop. Once boiling, remove from heat, add the 4 black tea bags, and let them steep for 4–5 minutes to infuse the water with tea flavor.
  2. Cool the Tea: Remove the tea bags carefully and allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature before proceeding to the next step to avoid melting the sweetener.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons allulose (or your preferred sugar-free sweetener). Stir well to start dissolving the sweetener.
  4. Add Cold Water: Pour in 1 cup of cold water to dilute slightly and aid the complete dissolution of the sweetener. Stir vigorously until all sweetener is fully dissolved.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust by adding more lemon juice or sweetener according to your preference for tartness and sweetness.
  6. Refrigerate: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill thoroughly for about 1 hour to enhance flavor and serve cold.
  7. Serve: When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled iced tea lemonade over the ice.
  8. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish each glass with fresh lemon slices and optional fresh mint leaves for a burst of color and aroma. Serve immediately for a refreshing summer drink.

Notes

  • Allulose dissolves easily and is ideal for cold beverages, making it perfect for this recipe.
  • For a caffeine-free option, substitute black tea with herbal teas such as rooibos.
  • Enhance flavor by adding fresh berries, cucumber slices, or additional mint for a unique twist.
  • Use 5 tea bags if you prefer a stronger tea flavor.
  • Store any leftover iced tea lemonade in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days for the best taste and freshness.
