Description
Tender and tangy Slow Cooker Lemonade Chicken, where juicy chicken breasts are slow cooked in a sweet and citrusy mixture of lemonade concentrate, ketchup, brown sugar, and soy sauce, creating a flavorful and effortless dish perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts
Sauce
- 1 (6 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the slow cooker. Place the 4 chicken breasts evenly into the bottom of the slow cooker to form a single layer.
- Make the sauce. In a medium bowl, combine the thawed 6 oz frozen lemonade concentrate, 1/4 cup ketchup, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons soy sauce. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
- Combine and cook. Pour the prepared lemonade sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, ensuring they are well coated.
- Slow cook the chicken. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on Low for 6 hours or on High for 3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked, tender, and easily shredded with a fork.
- Serve. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken breasts and spoon the sauce over them. Serve hot with preferred sides such as rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For more depth of flavor, consider adding minced garlic or a pinch of black pepper to the sauce before cooking.
- You can shred the chicken after cooking and mix it back into the sauce for a pulled chicken style dish.
- The sweetness level can be adjusted by modifying the amount of brown sugar or using a light lemonade concentrate.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after cooking and simmer the sauce on the stovetop briefly to reduce it.
- Ensure the lemonade concentrate is fully thawed before mixing to allow for even blending of ingredients.
