Ingredients
Seafood and Meat
- 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 lbs snow crab legs
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
Vegetables and Citrus
- 1½ lbs baby potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into halves
- 1 lemon, sliced
Seasonings and Sauces
- ¼ cup Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the Seasoned Water: Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add lemon slices, garlic cloves, Cajun seasoning, and Old Bay seasoning to infuse the water with robust flavors.
- Cook the Potatoes: Add the baby potatoes to the boiling water and cook for about 15 minutes, or until they start to become tender but not fully cooked through.
- Add Sausage and Corn: Carefully add the sliced smoked sausage and halved corn ears to the pot and continue boiling for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the corn to soften.
- Cook the Crab Legs: Place the snow crab legs into the boiling pot and let them cook for 5 minutes, until heated through.
- Cook the Shrimp: Finally, add the peeled and deveined shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque, indicating they are done.
- Drain and Serve: Drain all the ingredients thoroughly and transfer them to a large serving platter for presentation.
- Melt Butter and Drizzle: In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter. Drizzle the melted garlic butter generously over the seafood boil to add richness and complementary flavor.
- Garnish and Serve Immediately: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the dish for a vibrant finish, and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Serve with extra garlic butter and additional lemon wedges for guests to customize flavor.
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning according to your preferred spice level for a milder or hotter boil.
- Consider adding crawfish, lobster tails, or clams to diversify the seafood selection.
