- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar or honey
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Rice Cakes: Soak rice cakes in warm water if they are hardened to soften them for cooking.
- Heat Butter and Garlic: Heat butter in a pan over medium heat and add minced garlic, sautéing briefly until fragrant but not browned.
- Stir-fry Rice Cakes: Add the rice cakes to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until they start to soften and are heated through.
- Add Sauce Ingredients: Pour in soy sauce, sugar (or honey), sesame oil, and water, stirring to coat the rice cakes evenly.
- Cook until Glazed: Continue cooking while stirring until the sauce thickens and forms a glossy glaze over the rice cakes, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Finish with Sesame Seeds: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the glazed rice cakes and serve warm immediately for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Add chili flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
- Best served immediately to maintain the chewy texture of the rice cakes.
